Location: Denver, Colorado
Pay: $18 to $22 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 1pm-9pm or 5am-1pm with occasional overtime as needed
Job Summary
In this essential role, the Digital Press Operator will successfully coordinate and prioritize all aspects of the production process with substantial focus on producing a printed product of superior quality, rapidly and efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities
- Reviews department schedule and production order details to determine job specifications including deadline for completion
- Responsible for efficient operation of black & white and/ or color digital print equipment
- Toner- based or inkjet-based print technology (ie. HP, Ricoh, Kirk-Rudy, iJet)
- Works with receiving and other production departments to ensure work area is properly staged using a pallet jack or forklift
- Inspects materials and products for defects to ensure is meets job specifications
- Loads material onto press, makes adjustments to equipment to accommodate various paper sizes and desired parameters for each press run
- Use computer systems to set-up/ calibrate equipment according to job specifications outlined in production order
- Maintains equipment logs and keeps accurate records of time spent on each job and quantities produced
- Ensures machine is running at maximum operational efficiency by consistently monitoring equipment performance and identifying, diagnosing, and correcting any problems that arise
- Creates workflow methods to improve efficiency. Maintains organization to limit over-runs
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and completes necessary adjustments to equipment to correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the service or product or function.
- Completes preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment when possible
- Coordinate maintenance and repair needs with outside service personnel as needed
- Maintains a clean and organized work area at all times
- Completes other digital equipment and finishing duties as required
- Cross-trains in other areas and continues learning new and improved processes to increase knowledge and understanding of print industry
- Operates in compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years previous experience as a machine operator or computer operator
- Must be a motivated, self-starter who is eager to learn, grow, and seek promotion within the company
- Manufacturing experience required
- Printing Machine Operating experience preferred
- Interpret and follow directions with precision
- Computer skills for job detail input and machine operation
- Excellent collaborative skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Detail-oriented
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and re-stack up to 50lbs throughout shift
- Willingness to work overtime and any regular shift schedule. Flexibility to change shift as needed to provide backup coverage
